Thank you for your question. As Patrick has already written, the Roomba Combo does not recognise carpets. It does not spray water like the Braava jet m6 for example (which would recognise and avoid carpets by the way), instead the Roomba Combo moistens the attached pad. However, you can also use the Combo without the pad, in which case it will simply vacuum your home without wet cleaning.
