No it does not. Just tried it and it complained about not enough power (g.co/cast/power). I'm gonna return it.

Yes it does work. I have this connected to the "Google Google Chromecast with TV (Google Assistant)" with the USB power brick that was included with the Chromecast. No issues at all so far.

With a decent power supply (3A), the adapter also works with the new "Chromecast with Google TV".
