Does the HDMI cable really support HDR? According to wikipedia, HDMI must be version 2, so which is correct, the description or the version?

I use the cable on an older 4k Sony receiver (2013) and a 4k TV without HDR. This works without any problems. I do not have HDR and therefore cannot confirm that the cable transmits HDR.
