Question about WD Elements Desktop
Does this disk shut down by itself when not in use or when the computer is put to sleep?

Hello,
This drive goes to sleep if the computer is in sleep mode or if it is inactive. But it always stays on as long as the USB is connected.
Because it is separately powered, it automatically goes into Power On mode as soon as it is plugged into the USB.
Conversely, it turns off if the USB is unplugged, without necessarily going through the standard Windows eject (which in this case doesn't bother it in the least).
Otherwise, to turn it off completely, there is a Power button on the back.
