I have two connected (directly) to a MacBook Air M1 with Veracrypt formatted as exFAT. They run without any problems.

I have 3 of them on my Mac Mini. I didn't know of any problems, but haven't noticed any yet. However, they are not connected directly, if that should play a role (via a Thunderbolt dock).

Running, yes, but perfromance at 645MB/s write 699MB/s read - directly via USB-C to MBP Pro 13" M1 - thus only at 2/3 performance...
