Good day, I would like to know if this ZenBook also works under Ubuntu 18.04? I read in forum posts that the TouchPad and the fingerprint sensor sometimes cause problems. If someone has already used this combination (UX463FL+Ubuntu18.04) or could do a test with a live USB stick, I would be very interested in the result! Many thanks in advance and best regards, Timo
I don't use Fingerprint, so I can't answer this question.
I have also read about many problems, and in short: it boots from a stick and also starts after installation, but there is a lot to do before it runs well.
A little more detail:
After playing with the xorg configuration to disable the TouchPad display (so that it can no longer be used as a display), it ran without major problems (using a Linux Mint, which uses Ubuntu 18.04 as a base). I have now been on Ubuntu 20.04 for a week, and it seems to work relatively smoothly.
I wouldn't recommend it to an absolute Linux newcomer, as it took a moment until everything ran smoothly, but basically it runs under Linux/Ubuntu (kernel >=5.4 recommended).
I hope this helps a little in making a decision.
