Hello all I have connected the receiver to my Ultima 40 suroundsound system via an HDMI cable and I keep getting noise. However, only on my 2 laptops, everything works fine on the PC. However, as I need my PC for other purposes, I am looking for a new one for the system and would like to ask whether the receiver has any hardware requirements.

Hello Jeremykurmann, I am not an audio specialist.
From the description of the problem, that the music from the PC runs "top" and there is no noise, I assume that you have everything right.
From my own experience with laptops, I know that laptops like to pass on the internal clocks for the chips (beats) to the outside via audio or HDMI.

What can you do:
Maybe you can borrow another laptop, from a friend and do another test with it. That would definitely underline the thesis of the clock.

My setup:
I use SONOS with a SONOS AMP as music source for my Denon AVR-S660H and B&O passive speakers are on it.
