Akasa AK-ICR-14 USB 3.0, 6-Port Card Reader 3.5 S/W
USB 3.0
Hello all. I have had this card reader for a couple of years and have now installed it in a new case. Problem, I am missing a second USB 3.0 connector on the motherboard (for the blue connector - see picture). Is there a converter to attach the device to another slot or is it possible to split the existing connector? Is this still possible somehow? Thanks for tips.
Hello NicoleImhof
What connections do you have available on the motherboard ? Normally, most USB 3.x are led out to the "connector block" of the motherboard. The blue 20-pin blue connector is actually designed exactly for such a card reader or an additional slot bracket with USB 3.x connectors. New motherboards may also have a special USB 3.2 Gen2 connector for a bracket with USB-C connectors.
What do you want to use the blue connector for at the moment ?
If you could share the information here (maybe motherboard manufacturer and type) I might be able to help you better.
Greetings Klaus
Hi, you can also use it with only one connector plugged in, the 2 being the cards and the usb ports respectively. You see what you need, I don't know.
It is imperative to install all the latest updates, in fact there are recognition problems with early versions.
I also had problems with supply delays back in the day.
I need to have the same questions answered as were already asked in Klaus' message.
Greetings
Urs
