Hello I would like to buy a FritzBox 5590 for my future Internet connection from Init7 in Switzerland. Since there are different models / SFP modules, I would like to know which one(s) is the right one. Information from Init7, connection type Fibre7: https://www.init7.net/de/internet/hardware/ a) For Fibre7 with 1 Gb/s b) For fibre7 with 10 Gb/s. Init7 says that they had compatibility problems during their tests: "We only tested the 5590 with 1 Gbps. We do not have internal tests on compatibility with 10 Gbps. From our customers' experience, we know that the 5590 was made to work with an optic from fs.com." Thank you very much for your information.

The fibre 7 / 1GB works without problems with the 5590 fiber and also with the 5530 fiber. (The SFP module that is also supplied by AVM AON)
The fibre 7-X 10GB requires a special module, namely one with an AON connection from FS.COM.
(Fiber7-X 10 Gbit/s: 10G SFP+ BIDI LR, TX1270/RX1330 nm)
Order number #74681 https://www.fs.com/de... and important compatibility "GENERIC"
I made the switch today and it works without any problems in my Fritzbox 5590 and should also work in the 5530.
The only downside is the speed can only be 2.5G at most via the LAN connection, as there is a 10G.
But there will be new Fritzboxes with WIFI7 this year and they will have such a LAN connection.

Thanks mtcomputer77, with your instructions it worked perfectly for me.

For the newbies among us, myself included, I have some additional information. The linked 10 Gbit/s optics from FS should be connected with an LC UPC fibre optic patch cable (blue plug). Such a cable is also available on FS with the order number #123906 (LC UPC to LC APC Simplex OS2 Singlemode) for less than 3 CHF. Unfortunately, the cables are hardly available at Digitec/Galaxus.

As described by mtcomputer77 and Janik‽, 10GB/s works with restrictions with the 5590. If you compare the technical specifications from AVM, it should also work with the 5530 and the 5690, as also described. But should and does are not quite the same thing. I am particularly interested in whether anyone has successfully managed this with the 5530 and can confirm that it works?
