You can also leave the existing WLAN running. However, I would then give the new WLAN a different name to avoid potential problems.

For the Swiss Knife you need a POE adapter https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/ubiquiti-u-poe-af-poe-injektor-netzwerk-zubehoer-9558411 if no POE switch is available.

.... I mean that I don't have to switch off the existing WLAN! 😉😁

Thank you very much for your helpful answers! 😁
I need an AP for outside so that I have W-LAN in the carport. I would connect it via Lan to the Internetbox 3 from Swisscom. Can you give me a tip on what kind of device I need for this?
Thank you very much!
Kind regards Remo

Yes and no. It won't work as a mesh extension to the Swisscom router's Wi-Fi network, but if you wire it via Ethernet, it will work (in which case you'll need to turn off the router's Wi-Fi network). You'll need a cloud-key for management, especially if you want to install several of them.

Hi.

In general, yes. However, a separate WLAN is set up with the devices. You can operate it in standalone mode (setup via UniFi app) or manage it via the UniFi Cloud Controller (software or hardware). Ideally, the Swisscom WLAN should be deactivated.
