Hello, What does "Composite video (1x)" mean, under the "Video connections" category? This device connects to the TV via an HDMI socket, doesn't it? And what cable (HDMI, then?) do I need to buy (as it's not supplied, if I understand correctly)? Thanks for your help!

Composite video is the internationally used English term for the analogue method of transmitting a picture channel, but without audio or sound, which is transmitted separately (also analogue).

With composite video, the entire picture information is transmitted via one line, which leads to poor picture quality compared to digital systems (e.g. HDMI) and is therefore no longer in use. However, in order to be backwards compatible with older screens, this connection is still often found on players.

Hello,

Yes, the DVD player connects to the television using an HDMI socket that is not supplied.
