It is not recommended to update the bios if you are using a Raven Ridge. It is necessary to update it with the latest version (P1.40 or P1.41 from memory for AsRock) to put a Picasso like this one.

In my opinion you have to update the bios first, I think it's still early to assume that asrock has already updated the bios of the stock available today. In any case I had to update the bios of the last 2 a300s I bought. Unless of course Galaxus can guarantee in advance that the latest bios has been installed.
