I use my iPAD Pro every day, even under "difficult" conditions (as a mobile device on a motorbike, while travelling, in the office). Without a separate case, usually directly in a suitcase or briefcase. So far, it has survived everything without any damage. If you don't drop it or hit it with hard objects, it is very robust.

I've had the same iPad for a month now and it's been treated quite harshly in the backpack. (Laptop, notepads, law books, other equipment) Protected with an Apple Folio sleeve, I haven't noticed any bending yet.
