I have an Acer Aspire R11N3050 and would like to increase the RAM from 2GB to 8GB. Is it possible and recommended or is there a more optimal/faster option?

Increasing the RAM to 8 GB certainly makes sense, and it also makes sense to install an SSD if you don't already have one.
