Question about Panasonic SC-PMX94

I would like to connect an Audio-Technica AT-LPW40WN record player to this system. According to Panasonic, this is apparently not possible, the system does have an audio-in connection, but Panasonic says strictly: "SC-PMX94 can only output audio signals, but not receive them". So what is the audio-in input for?

Does this PAN statement not only refer to BT? I have plugged in a USB stick and music is playing. Music on phone connected with cable and also runs perfectly. The system cannot receive BT

Well, the system has a 3.5mm aux input and a 2-pin audio input. The record player has a built-in phono preamplifier. So it should be possible to set it so that it works on the audio or line-in input. If I'm not mistaken, line-in and audio input are the same thing.
