I would like to order Lan cable for fibre optics. I'm not sure what the shielding is all about, what I have to choose. I already know that I have to have at least Cat5. Can someone tell me what the shielding is about and what I have to choose?

Helpful answer

The shielding serves as additional protection and shields the data transmitted in the cable from external interference.

Just use a Cat 6 or 6A cable with shielding and that's it.

I don't understand the question about ordering RJ45 cable for fibre.
They are different cables.
