I have already changed the cable, but it did nothing. I then set the beamer's energy setting to "medium" and lo and behold: no more flickering.
Does anyone else have this problem? I would guess that it's a "Monday" lamp or worse, the image calculation...

Unfortunately, flickering is a well-known phenomenon with Epson beamers. I had it once with the TW4400 and according to various forums it is also quite common with the 7000/7100.

The reason for this is that the light source is not designed for continuous use on Eco.
Epson support has already told one of the people affected that you should always plan to change to "Normal" so that the lamp can reach its maximum service life.
You may be lucky and it never flickers but when it starts you should consider this with the change.
I assume that a mix of 20h Eco and then 5h normal mode is probably the most ideal variant. (Conclusion from about 5 forums I have read through).

I've had the TW7100 in my home 2 times but I couldn't get the image to be sharp around the edges.... Even after 20 years of beamer experience, I had to capitulate and I didn't want to test a third one either.

I have also had the projector for about 2 months and always have it in ECO mode. I have never noticed any flickering. There must be something wrong with you :/
