HP M283fdw Color LaserJet Pro
HP M283fdw Color LaserJet Pro
I am thinking of getting one of the "smaller" HP multifunction laser printers. I have the following questions: Is duplex scanning via ADF possible on the M283fdw model? Is duplex scanning via ADF possible on the M479fdw model? Many, many users of both models report "unusable" scans. Skewed feeds/scans, trapezoidal images (slightly narrowed at the top or bottom of the scan), poor quality etc. I wonder: With so many reports on the net, there must be something to it! On the other hand, how can these models be test winners! I would be happy to receive feedback.
I had the 479fdw. Duplex scanning worked perfectly, but the scan quality (colour resolution) for photos was so poor that I sent the machine back and got my money back. I don't know if this was an isolated case or if the 479fdw generally has poor scanning resolution.
It definitely does not work. I have the HP 283fdw and it does not work. The product specification is also relatively clear on this. It says: "Two-sided scanning with automatic document feeder (ADF): No" for all versions of the 283. Unfortunately, the scans are mostly skewed. I haven't been able to get a straight scan myself. So, at least for me, the questioner's assumption is true.
The M283fdw does not have duplex scanning (in one pass). The M479 has two versions, M479dw does not have duplex scanning but the versions with fax function (with f) like M479fnw have duplex scanning.
I have not been able to create duplex scans automatically via the feeder. M.E. you have to manually insert a double-sided document 2x!
As I see it, DUPLEX SCAN is NOT possible.
But maybe digitec can comment here - wouldn't be bad to get a clear statement here !?!!
Looks like duplex scanning will work.
