I'm confused, the description says that the MacBook has a Retina display, but in the specifications it says "WQXGA" for the image resolution... does it have Retina or not? Can anyone help me with this?

Wide Quadruple Extended Graphics Adapter (WQXGA) is the short name for the graphics resolution 2560×1536 pixels (3.93 megapixels).

The Macbook has a Retina Display with these technical specifications:

Retina Display:

13.3" display (33.78 cm diagonal) with LED backlighting and IPS technology, native resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels at 227 ppi with support for millions of colours.

Supported scaled resolutions:
1680 x 1050
1440 x 900
1024 x 640
500 nits brightness
Wide colour gamut (P3)
True Tone technology

If you buy an external screen, make sure it has a resolution of at least 3840 x 2160 pixels, 27 or 28 inches. This resolution becomes a Retina Display from a distance of 54 cm, because from then on you can no longer recognise individual pixels on the screen.
