Is it possible to bend the monitor mount including the monitor as close to the wall as possible (flat) so that the monitor is close to the wall? A picture with the mount retracted would be helpful.

This is not possible. Only the front part can be moved up and down. The manufacturer specifies the length of the protruding arm as 430-495 mm.
