Is it possible to use / switch on the NC of the WH-1000XM4 without the app? In other words: switch on/off on the headphones themselves? Our son wants to use the NC at school (NC only, no music), but doesn't have a mobile. We could set it up at home with our mobile.

The headphones have a dedicated button that can be used to activate and deactivate ANC.

Hello Mafunk,

yes, the noise cancelling (NC) of the WH-1000XM4 can be used without an app once it has been set up.
Your son can activate the NC at school by using the corresponding buttons on the headphones.
