If I understand your question correctly, you have to make sure that the source (TV, PS4) is set to the corresponding coder (Bitstream DTS or Dolby, LPCM) and that the decoder is also switched accordingly.

Otherwise, the audio will be played back corruptly (as in my case) or even not at all.
