Is the hard drive crash-proof? and what are the EXACT read and write rates?
Hello Silon
If you define a fall as a sudden termination of a movement, it depends on how strong the movement was. a fall from a height of 0.5m can already cause irreparable damage, but this is rather unlikely as the read/write heads are in the OFF position and therefore not in contact with the disk. In this case, a magnet would be much more dangerous. The situation is different when the drive is in operation, a movement during operation which ends in apruppt can very quickly cause irreparable damage as the read/write heads hover above the disk (0.1<mm). if a read/write head comes into contact with the disk at a speed of approx. 7200rpm, damage is the result.
In summary: Shockproof off up to a certain degree / Shockproof off yes but not optimal
I have not found the EXACT read and write rates either.
Kind regards TH-H
