For me, much better than the WH-1000XM3. The WH-1000XM5 have been in use for 1 year. The intensity of the noise cancellation can also be adjusted. At max suppression, not even the noise of the hoover comes through.

Perhaps a little better, but the workmanship and quality of the headphones themselves is extremely much worse than the M3. Would swap my M5 with you immediately if the headphones hadn't ended up in the bin after 3 months of use. Sony warranty was also worth nothing.
