printing from sd-card or usb-stick, what format must the file have?

The photos we take with our camera have the format ".JPG". For printing via Selphy, we insert the SD card into the printer. I don't know if the printer can process other formats. Tip: Ask Canon. I have always received a quick and competent answer from Canon.
