Shouldn't there be Elite lettering on the front? And the display in red? Online reviews and e.g. on Microspot also say 100w/8ohm. The data sheet says 170w/8ohm. Are there two versions of this receiver?

The Instruction Manual from Pioneer (SN29403975_VSX-LX305_En_210421_web.pdf, https://www.pioneerhomeusa.com/wp-content...) gives the answer to the question on different versions. Starting on page 184, you will find the technical specifications: Whether the US model really has more power or is just based on a different measuring method is something I cannot judge, but another criterion for deciding could be the difference in the tuner (AM/FM for the US and DAB/FM for the European model). According to the product sheets (data sheets on the US and EU websites of Pioneer), the colour of the display and the presence of the "Elite" logo seem to be an external distinguishing feature.

I confirm the different versions for North America, Europe and Australia/Asia.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the max. effective output power for the European units is 185 W at 6 ohms. The nominal output power is 9 channels x 170 W at 6 ohms.
