Question about TP-Link Archer MR400
So far I have been able to find the function "Remote access to the router", but I have not been able to get it to work. Does anyone use this? What are your settings and what have you done about it?

I think this means the admin/configuration page. If you are connected to a PC with the network (regardless of whether wifi or cable), you can type in the address 192.168.0.1 in the browser (Internet explorer, safari, chrome etc). This will give you access to the router. The password and user name should be written on a piece of paper or on the box somewhere.
