The data sheet here says that a maximum of 80 pages per day may be scanned. Is that really the case?

Many printers and scanners are given a maximum recommended print or scan throughput. As far as I know, this is a guideline from the manufacturer for the customer for which average use the device is designed, so that the customer can find the most suitable device for him. If the customer's scan volume is higher than the recommended daily throughput, the device is either no longer economically usable due to its characteristics (too slow), shows excessive wear (shortening of the service life) or causes excessive follow-up costs for spare parts (in this case the feed rollers). If you regularly want to scan more than 80 pages per day, this scanner is "undersized" for you and the larger model (e.g. the ix500) would be better suited for you. Brother explains how this works with printers, for example, at the following link: http://www.brother.de/support...

I did not find this in the specifications. I know that you can scan more than 80 pages in a day. But I suspect that the machine was not made to scan more than 80 pages a day. We have this in operation for occasional scanning and that works fine.
