AVM FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX
2400 Mbit/s, 600 Mbit/s
The German press is full of praise for this product. It seems to do well in the tests. However, in my opinion, these tests all have a flaw. They are tested with ONE notebook that connects to the repeater, which is connected to the router. But what happens if the repeater has to serve 2 or 4 devices? Since only 2x2 antennas are available, the performance should drop massively, or am I mistaken?
Yes, the speed should not be so optimal, because this is a repeater and the bandwidth is cut when signals are sent back and forth, usually a lot of bandwidth is lost when such devices communicate with each other. In general, you should not use range repeaters or extenders, they are all unhelpful and outdated. My recommendation is a real mesh system consisting of several mesh routers. This solution here can handle WiFi 6 and up to 256 devices simultaneously with the 4+1 CPU per mesh router.
Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 (2-Pack)
Such solutions with mesh technology do not limit the speed, which you inevitably get with old repeater technology.
