The HP4540S does not run this RAM does anyone know why? The specification matches the original 4Gb but with 1 x 8Gb or 2x 8gb the computer does not run.

Have you checked whether the HP notebook supports more than 4 GB? Many laptops don't let you easily increase the RAM unfortunately. Greez KingRaven90

I bought this RAM on 4 March 2015 together with the notebook "ASUS N751JK-T7235H (17.30", Full HD, Intel Core i7-4710HQ, 8GB, HDD)" to upgrade it to 16GByte. It runs perfectly in this notebook.
