Question about Samsung 870 EVO
Maybe a stupid question, but I'm planning to install a hard drive in my computer for the first time. Is there a power cable in the scope of delivery to connect the hard disk to my power supply unit in the computer? That is, besides the additional cable needed to connect the hard drive to the mainboard (SATA).
Mains cables are standardised on the unit side, but the connections on the power supply unit side are not. This means that no cables can be supplied for the power supply unit and, secondly, that you should never connect power cables that you do not know are specifically made for this power supply unit.
Open your PC and look at the power supply's connection cables, even with prebuilts most power supplies still have free connections for Sata hard drives.
If your computer is a laptop, you will either have to replace the existing hard drive, or it has a second slot that is already wired (via the circuit board).
