You have a lot of options. For example, you can listen to PMR frequencies, but remember that the maximum transmission power of a PMR446 radio is 500mw. This means that the range is very limited. With a proper scanner antenna, which you can connect to the scanner via BNC, you can increase the range a little, but not unlimited.

If you just want to listen to some radio, I would search for the nearest airfield/airport, find the frequency and tune it in. At smaller airfields, however, you will only be able to listen to a few, as the traffic is usually limited. If you really want to hear a lot of different things, go to Zurich airport and scan the entire air band. Then you can listen to air radio until you drop :-)
