what is the difference between the version with and without usb c cable? can both versions also be connected by cable? are they identical in construction? is the release date different, is only the supplied cable the extra one?

There is no technical difference.
Both controllers are identical and can be used wirelessly and via USB-C cable.

The only difference:
- Version with USB-C cable -> cable included.
- Version without USB-C cable -> no cable included.
