Why does the DisplayPort only work if I follow this bizarre procedure? 1. start laptop Jhg. 23 (RTX 3070 Ti, USB 3.2 Gen 2) , monitor /LG UltraGear 32GR93U-B (3840 x 2160 pixels, 31.50") disconnected from the power supply 2. connect monitor to power supply, switch on. 3. laptop recognises screen and everything works fine, even at 160 kHz. If the monitor is only off but connected to the mains, the monitor and laptop communicate, but the laptop is trapped in a loop, jumping back to the starting point every second. Not usable. No image is displayed on the monitor. Second laptop with 4090 graphics card is also unable to conjure up an image on the screen via the DisplayPort with the adapter. Is there an easier way to get the combination to work? Why is the combination sensitive to the bizarre start-up procedure? Thanks in advance.
I assume that the monitor is connected via DP. (and not from DP to HDMI)
This is unusual, I must admit I have connected the adapter to the laptop to use an HP Reverb G2 and never had any problems.
I will try connecting my laptop to a monitor and see if the same phenomenon occurs.
How is the connector topology viewed from the Nvidia control panel?
Loop back to the start, HP logo in a loop?
