Unfortunately, the light mostly points downwards so I don’t find it suitable for direct lighting of the face.

If you are in a dark room and your desk is reflective, it might be enough to cast off some of the vertical light.

Yes, there is enough light to light your face during video calls, but the light is a bit cold/ white so not necessarily flattering. Also I struggle to see my keyboard when I only use the light bar.
