André Juillard was born in Paris in 1948. At the age of 10, he discovered his two great passions: comics and history. He was introduced to comics through "Tintin" by Hergé. He made his debut as an illustrator in 1974 in the magazine "Formule 1," where he illustrated a Western scenario by Claude Verrien. In the series "Pif-Gadget" (the French equivalent of YPS), he created the series "The Red Mask" based on a scenario by Cothias. With permission later granted, he also worked on the 7-volume series "The 7 Lives of the Falcon." Additionally, he collaborated with Jacques Martin on three albums of the historical series "Arno" and created "The Blue Diary" on his own, which was published by Casterman in 1994. This album was nominated for the Alph-Art at the Angoulême Comic Festival in 1995 in the categories of "Best Scenario" and "Best Album." He later illustrated the series.
