As it is a class 2 laser pointer, possession and use indoors is still permitted until 19 June 2021 (2 years after the V-NISSG comes into force), after which possession and use is prohibited.
All other categories (with the exception of category 1, which is not affected by the new law) are already prohibited (possession as well as use) from 1 June 2019.
Under these circumstances, I find it somewhat borderline that Digitec (and Logitech) still advertise the item with a 3-year hardware warranty.
The law is justified by incidents of glare, primarily in air traffic. Digital pointing devices are suggested as alternatives.
As always, however, all this will probably be of no use, because glare will probably still occur (it was already forbidden before).
In any case, I would now say: Hands off all Cat. 2 laser pointers! I myself bought an R700 in autumn and I am very sorry to have to throw away what is actually a very good device in 2 years - it was actually intended as a purchase for half a lifetime. :(
I see that the R800 presenter with the green laser pointer has a class 3 laser. In Switzerland, however, only class 1 and 2 lasers are (still) permitted, which is probably the reason why it is no longer offered in Switzerland.

I don't think it's available at Digitec, but you can order it from the Logitech website (http://support.logitech.com/de_ch...).
Use it under MacOS Sierra on a PowerBook (Retina, Mid 2012) with PowerPoint. Works flawlessly so far.

Yes, it works perfectly. Basically, it behaves like an external keyboard, so it should be the same under all operating systems.
