The story of Fireheart's most dangerous rival, Tigerclaw, takes place parallel to the first season of the Warrior Cats. After his failed attack on the leader Bluestar, Tigerclaw is banished from ThunderClan. Severely injured, Tigerclaw retreats into the forest. When he discovers that the weakened ShadowClan is struggling for survival and that its leader has died, Tigerclaw devises a cunning plan: he must become Tigerstar and help ShadowClan regain its former glory in order to destroy ThunderClan once and for all.
