The tube of glue does not dry immediately once opened, as the glue hardens by evaporation of the solvent, which generally takes between 24 and 72 hours depending on the ambient temperature and humidity. To prevent the tube from drying out prematurely, it is advisable to close the cap tightly after use and, if necessary, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the threads of the tube to facilitate closure. The adhesive remains water-resistant immediately after application, but full hardening is necessary for optimum adhesion.
