The origin of the unusual name dates back to a time when many farmers in Crottendorf could not afford a cow for milk production and therefore kept goats. The residents of neighboring villages then gave the Crottendorf inhabitants the nickname "Goat Legs." The wooden figure represents a smoking incense smoker, which is how it got its name.
