My HUE Strip works wonderfully with a HUE motion sensor. I would not even try another one because it is not recognised by the HUE app.

Yes, this should work without any problems, because the led strip comes on directly when it gets power. But if you have a Hue Bridge, you can also use a motion detector from the Hue series.

Yes - that works. I have also implemented it this way. Simply adjusting the colours via the app only works when it is switched on, of course. Switching it on/off twice in quick succession resets it to the default setting.
