Yes, the pump is quite loud. I would say about as loud as a hoover. However, this is very subjective and will certainly be perceived differently by everyone. Alternatively, the bed can also be inflated with a hand pump.

It is relatively laud, but you can somehow lower the noise down by covering the pump with a blanket or a quilt while pumping up. Just keep the hand on the inflation hole to make sure it will not suck up the blanket/quilt.
For me it worked, you can still hear it but definitely not that loud.
