I bought the hue light strips especially for the movie/game lighting (sold as such), but they only work for Razor products and now I need the Play Set?

The Ambilight function (called Hue Sync) only works if you have the programme installed, so it has to be a PC. Unless you have a Phillips tv that already has Ambilight, you can also pair it.
I wouldn't recommend the lightstrips for Ambilight, because they only do one colour.

You can connect hue light strips with hue sync to synchronise them with picture and sound. Simply download Hue Sync
