I think it's worth it even without a smart home. I have Smart Home devices at home but rarely use them through the Lenovo Alarm Clock.
Since everything works with the Google Home app, it also works fine with iPhones, I use an iPhone myself and have no problems. The only thing is that if you don't use Google products, features like calendar integration don't work.
