Promotes vigorous plant growth. The porous structure allows for the rapid colonization of beneficial nitrifying bacteria. Contributes to maintaining a neutral to slightly acidic pH level - ideal for planted aquariums, tropical fish, and shrimp commonly kept in planted tanks. Does not alter water color and controls water color with brown driftwood. Used in freshwater aquariums.
