Hello RamH Thank you for your interest and your question. Roomba e5 can be controlled via the app. So you can start or stop cleaning your robots at any time, even when you are not at home. It navigates by means of the iAdapt 1.0 navigation, which does not seem logical to us at first. However, using this navigation, the robot vacuum follows a triangular pattern and reacts to objects in your home and then changes direction. With the e5, however, you won't be able to see what has been effectively cleaned. For this, we would recommend the Roomba i3, which allows you to see where it has been and what has been cleaned at the end of the cleaning process. If you have any further questions or uncertainties, please feel free to contact us directly. You can reach us by phone at +41 62 746 06 74 or by email at service@irobotics.ch. Best regards, Your iRobot Team
I think in such special situations only a robot hoover with a LIDAR laser navigation system would help. These robot hoovers can be recognised by the small tower in which the laser rotates continuously, tracks the map of the rooms and, of course, also finds the way back to the docking station absolutely perfectly and in every case. It knows where it has been and where it has to go. Cleaning is systematic and not random. The iRobot Roomba does not use a laser navigation system for orientation and therefore cannot find its way around the room as accurately. More expensive iRobot hoovers can still orient themselves with the help of ToF sensor cameras, which in principle also works, but very often not. The iRobot Roomba e5158 model, however, has nothing that helps with navigation, it works according to the random principle and this unfortunately leads to the robot searching for the docking station in the flat as described, sometimes with success and often unfortunately not. The small transparent round sensor element at the top of the robot is used for this purpose, with which it tries to detect signals from the charging station via infrared. I would recommend replacing the robot (possibly sell it here at Digitec), e.g. with a Xiaomi or Roborock model with LiDAR laser navigation system. The Xiaomi model Dreame 9 has such a navigation system and costs the same but can reliably find its way back to the charging station (and also has a wet wipe function): Xiaomi Dreame D9
Hello Andrea93 Thank you for your question. When used correctly and cleaned regularly, the Roomba e5158, like all iRobot robotic vacuum cleaners, does not scratch parquet floors. Best regards Your iRobot Team
Absolutely, that is how it is used
Hello Thank you for your question. A virtual barrier is included with the purchase of an e5158. If you need an additional virtual barrier, you can also find it here on Galaxus by clicking on the following link: iRobot Roomba Dual Mode (1x) If you have any further questions or uncertainties, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Many greetings, Your iRobot Team
Should be just fine. My heels are sometimes higher, so it gets stuck.
If there is no mention of 'Used + tested' or 'As new + tested' or simply 'Used' then it is new. The mention Showroom only indicates that the item can be seen in the shop.
Hello Gitti_G Roomba e5158 can be used on both Anydrite and hardwood floors. It is important that the robot vacuum is cleaned regularly so that there are no stones or coarse dirt between the brushes that could scratch the floor. Best regards Your iRobot Team
Hello Nadinekw The weight of the Roomba e5158 is 3.85 kg. Best regards Your iRobot Team
so the station and 1 wall is included
the e5 drives around haphazardly. only those with a camera can follow a route, i.e. the i7 series.
Hello What is the difference between the Roomba e5 and the Roomba 896. Which one is better for pets?
They differ in charging time, battery life, filter type, scope of delivery and size. Here you can see one or the other difference: https://www.galaxus.ch/de/Comparison/9813753-6351593 :-)
Hello Simonacl, The main difference between the e5 and 980 is the navigation. The iRobot Roomba 900 Series vacuum robots are equipped with iAdapt 2 Navigation, which helps the robot navigate around your home. The robot creates visual landmarks to know where it has been and where it still needs to clean. This allows the iRobot Roomba 900 Series to effectively clean an entire floor in your home. iAdapt 2.0 Navigation also allows the 900 Series to charge and resume. The robot vacuum will automatically return to the charging station to recharge the battery and then continue cleaning where it left off. Another difference can be found in the app functions. Through iAdapt 2.0 Navigation, the iRobot Roomba 900 Series Robot Vacuum Cleaner creates a cleaning map. You can also set cleaning preferences such as 'Final Edge Clean' in the app. The iRobot Roomba 980 has a battery life of 120 minutes and 10x more suction power compared to the 600 series - while the iRobot Roomba e5 runs for 90 minutes on one charge and has 5x more suction power compared to the 600 series. Best regards, your iRobot Team!
