Could you give me the link to the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra in the German shop? Unfortunately, I can't find it. In general, however, there may be price differences in our shops, as we work with different suppliers with corresponding purchasing conditions.
We have an oiled parquet floor and it is easy to use as very little water gets onto the floor, which usually evaporates after 3-4 minutes. We don't have any water stains. I've only had the robot for 3 weeks.
I used to clean the oiled parquet with the Kärcher floor cleaner, which wasn't a problem either, although it left a lot more water on the floor.
Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra White (version with water connection) vacuum mopping robot with automatic follow-up (vacuum mopping robot) - on the "German" digitec/galaxus site it is at least already in the system
I haven't checked the water temperature yet. I don't agree with you about the corner brush. It turns fully during edge cleaning and does not interrupt. As well as the angle fits. It cleans very well. Dosing cannot be adjusted. But the floor always smells good, or rather it doses itself correctly.
We are currently awaiting an update from our supplier. Once it's available, it will be displayed on the product page. If a different date is shown in your customer account, that date is more accurate than the one here.
Why do you want to clean the carpets first? It automatically recognises the carpets and switches to suction mode. However, you could use automation in the app to set the robot hoover to vacuum the carpet first and then vacuum/mop the floors. This is relatively easy, but you still have to configure it once.
Galaxus does not seem to offer a separate docking station. I can imagine that a separate complete system with robot and docking station is required for another floor.
I could imagine that the same robot cannot share two stations.
Please let us know what happens if anything changes or if the software will allow it one day.
Good luck.
If you want to use the Roborock on two floors, one station is sufficient, but you have to carry the robot to each floor yourself. The station remains on one floor, while the robot can store the cards for several floors.
Hello
Personally I used the product that I use for the kobold, but I think that a floor product of any kind should be fine, I've only had it a week so I can't tell you more 😉
According to Roborock FAQ's:
The appliance works perfectly even without Wi-Fi. If an internet connection is available, additional functions are available in the app, e.g. scheduled cleaning, switching to set the suction power. But even without these functions, you can use the 3 buttons on the device to start/stop cleaning processes, move the device to the dock for charging and perform spot cleaning.
Water, decalcified as far as possible by a Britta filter, so that all plastic parts last longer and no soap film forms.
Just water. I would never use a cleaning agent.
Not yet. The integration of robot vacuums into the smart home protocol standard Matter 1.2 is only a few months old. As far as I’m aware no brand has fully integrated Matter into their robot vacuums yet.
A workaround is Siri shortcuts that the Roborock app automatically installs on your iphone. So you can control the robot using Siri.
Questions for people who already own it.
- Has anyone checked whether the water in the self-cleaning system is actually hot? According to some reports, it is at most lukewarm, around 36°C, which would tend to counteract the disinfectant effect and accelerate the build-up of germs.
- According to some reports, the extendable side brush should stop turning completely, especially in corners. The contact angle is also said to be less than ideal, so that the wiping result is sometimes poor as the bristles only rest on the floor at the front. Is this really the case?
- What is the approximate dosage of cleaning agent and can this be adjusted if necessary?
I'm actually about to buy it. I currently have the S7 MaxV Ultra and apart from problems with the battery and mapping, I am very satisfied. However, the points in question above are decisive for me, as it is anything but cheap. If the retractable brush and hot water cleaning don't work perfectly, there is no added value compared to the s7 MaxV Ultra. However, I don't entirely trust the early reviewers either, as some of them have pre-series appliances. Many thanks in advance.
Question for other owners of this appliance: Doesn't yours sweep up the brushes under the kitchen furniture? Surely it should be able to clean the 5 cm between the top edge (e.g. bottom kitchen drawer) and the end of the furniture flush with the floor? In my case, it only vacuums/sweeps/sweeps where the whole appliance can reach, but it never extends the side brush. Is this the same for you or do I have a warranty claim? I have already tried many things in the settings, AI function, collision avoidance mode switched off etc. Nothing has helped. Thank you very much if anyone has an answer.
It's more of a help for other buyers: Your dust bin doesn't empty any more? I had the same problem 2 times, and Galaxus replaced my 1st hoover after 6 months. The new one has the same problem, but it can be solved:
- the hoover is not properly aligned with the suction port inside the station. As a result, the air vacuum doesn't work properly --> I push the hoover a little by hand to the bottom of the station to make sure it sticks against this hole, and it works.
- the front plate of the station is incorrectly fitted, and the air vacuum is partial --> check that the plate at the front of the station (the one that gives access to the dust bag) is correctly in place
- the brushes and their covers are not correctly fitted --> check that the brushes are clear, and above all that when you put the plastic part back on top, the 3 insertion holes are properly clipped in with this part.
