After about half a year, I now like to write something about the Sage coffee machine....
At first, it was just a trial and the coffee was okay, not exactly what I imagined but quite good. Later I decided to take a coffee course, so someone came to me and together we adjusted the machine to the best possible. The difference was enormous compared to what I brewed before and after. So it's worth looking at the machine with a professional, or just trying it out intensively yourself....
But what several investigations have now shown. The machine simply brews too hot. We have also investigated this on site and the temperatures quickly reach over 100°C, which also dissolves unwanted bitter substances. The tip from the coffee maker was to select the lowest temperature level and brew no more than 25 seconds. The coffee maker also posted a video on Youtube about it and Sage even contacted them about it. It seems like the machine is designed to expect only one draw, thus the increased temperature is used to heat up the machine right along with it. But this leads to the fact that you already brew after the second coffee with too high temperature.
Provided that you brew but only one coffee and with greater intervals should be but no problem. Am just a little disappointed that such information regarding the customer profile of Sage is not openly communicated.
Would I again take so much money in hand for a barista coffee machine I would probably choose another model. But it is not the end of the world as mentioned the coffee tastes good and for home a good invesition.

I myself had read one or two comments on the site before buying and was aware that I do not buy a fully automatic machine that conjures up the desired coffee at the touch of a button. With this machine, you are somewhat guided by the display and manual, but you really need to have built up an understanding of espresso extraction and the various parameters. I booked a VIP Barista course for home and went through all the important parameters together with a barista and set the machine at least for the current coffee times so that there are consistent results. I still need to practice latte art. :) But I would really recommend you, if you do not have so much idea, to adjust the machine once with a specialist. The display is really little help and actually you can save that. The automatic milk frothing is really great and makes good milk foam.

Make no mistake... this is a primarily manual espresso machine. You will need to be patient with finding your preferred coffee bean, and associates coarseness, grind and brew quantities, although the presets do help start you off. Saving a customised option is great. If you’re a bit obsessive I strongly recommend small digital espresso scales to get your grind and brew grams bang on. If you like the micro foam of a well-made Flat White then the auto steam wand (with manual override) will impress... I’ve failed for years to foam milk this well on a home machine. Note this is a single boiler machine... Milk and espresso can’t be done at the same time, but the steam wand works quickly. The double portafilter takes ~18 grams of grind, giving a double pour of 36 grams on a 2:1 ratio. Plenty for a modern double but you’ll need to run a repeat grind & brew for each double espresso of the same quantities. Italian style espresso take more practice as each gram and second up or down makes a big difference in relative terms when you’re working with 7 grams of grind, but that’s the same with any machine. And use a variety of beans/roasts .. the difference of each variant helps train the taste buds and techniques. A safe and reliable (and good) start is ViCafe HausMischung... Ciao to capsules for good.

Great machine. Makes great milk foam. Also great coffee. But you have to know which bean to grind how coarse / fine. The operating instructions are not very helpful and too imprecise.
The touch display is good and guides you through the different coffee variations.
Cleans the milk nozzle itself.
