For how wide a window are the covers suitable?
In my opinion, for no window at all. I couldn't mount the thing anywhere even halfway sensibly. So I can't imagine that any "Swiss" window designs were taken into account during development. I strongly advise you not to buy this. I now only use the "normal" cover cloths (https://www.galaxus.ch/de/s2/product/sonnenkoenig-fensterkit-klimaanlage-zubehoer-5795740), which are not perfect but at least somewhat more useful. My next step will be to have a window duct installed by a glazier or carpenter, plug in the hose and that's it.
It depends on how you install the cover. The limiting factor is the maximum length of the combination of up to 3 plastic parts, which I call the "rod" below.
The best way is as shown in the second illustration here at Digitec. I.e., open the window normally (do not tilt it), adjust the outlet fitting to the necessary height, i.e., you generally need 2 or 3 parts. It is important to clamp the rod so that when you flip the lever, enough tension is built up for the rod to hold.
The width does not matter in this case because you can replace the pieces of fabric with plastic foil blanks.
Caution: The air-permeable fabric hose is not a substitute for the normal exhaust air hose of the air conditioner and is certainly not suitable for extending to its full length. This is because most of the exhaust air then goes into the room. There are three possibilities:
1. one of the adapters of your air conditioner fits into the cover's receptacle.
2. remove the tapered outlet of the air-conditioner exhaust hose and insert the hose into or over the cover and tape it together. I did it this way and it works perfectly. 3.
3. use the fabric hose as an adapter, but only in a very short, gathered state.
For the above-mentioned type of installation, it is also essential to attach the drawstring with the two adhesive plates and tighten it slightly.
