Is the tray available as a spare part or, if the Teflon coating peels off, does the still-functioning appliance have to be completely thrown away and replaced?
All spare parts for this part are more expensive than buying a new one (e.g. glass lid). Actually, an absolute waste of resources and a lousy eco-balance! No more purchase recommendation!
Great that there is no replacement inner pot. I have exactly this problem at the moment. The appliance is still working perfectly after 6 months but the inner pot is rusting. My rice cooker is from Ottos and it's not this one. I'm looking for a new appliance, but as I read here, the same thing is happening again. What a waste to dispose of the whole appliance. The same goes for spare parts for all other household appliances which is a disaster. Excuse my words, but it's true.
I have ordered a new container from fruugo that should fit this. unfortunately, I have the larger /1l variant of the device. Sending the container back to china is a bit too expensive for me :). if anyone wants the container, i can send it for free.
If you have an address in the EU, for example a German parcel service, then it costs exactly 19.24 euros to order the replacement pot - just google XX-6117020. The pot itself costs around 12 Euros, delivery to non-EU Switzerland would cost 21 Euros. If you order several spare parts at once, the shipping price pays off a little. I have been using the cooker practically every day for 7 years and am now buying the second replacement pot. So you should change the pot every 3-4 years, unless you never burn anything. Since each type of rice has a slightly different water requirement and I like to try many different types, the one or other pan bottom sometimes stuck/burned. The appliance itself is great and can serve up to 6 people at once, I've never had more than that in my house :D
If you buy an appliance for less than 30 francs, you simply buy a new one. The Teflon coating also only comes off if you handle it improperly. Therefore, please also read the instructions. I have no problems with this rice cooker.
